Why I love astronomy

Sometimes we live reading a lot of bad news and we think we are the centre of everything. Sometimes we think our problems are so important that the earth is going to stop. Sometimes we gaze at a nice beach or a big mountain and we believe they are the most beautiful things.

If we take a look at the Hubble pictures we will realize that we are nothing. We will destroy ourself and the cosmos will be there, so beautiful and full of life that we can’t see or even imagine. Our Solar System is a small point in our huge Galaxy and our Milky Way is only one among a infinite number.

Do you thing our problems are really important? Who cares if we destroy our planet, our earth is like a grain of sand in a huge beach. With respect to the Cosmos, we are insignificant, if I may say.

Isn't it wonderful to know that even our biggest problems are nothing?
